The main railway (no. 270) connecting the Moravian-Silesian region with the rest of the Czechia leads from Přerov through Suchdol nad Odrou, Studénka to Ostrava and further through Bohumín (with a branch to Poland) to Slovakia (the border checkpoint Mosty u Jablůnkova). Příbor, Kopřivnice and Štramberk (except Hukvaldy) are connected to this railway by local railway no. 325 in the direction towards Studénka – Veřovice (the length of the whole railway is 27 km) and a branch to the Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov. In Veřovice, it connects to the non-electrified railway no. 323 leading from Valašské Meziřčí through Frenštát p. R., Frýdlant n. O., Frýdek-Místek and other cities to Ostrava (connection to Beskydy). The approximately 18-kilometre long stretch from Studénka to Kopřivnice by motor vehicle takes approximately 20 minutes. The train has two stops in Kopřivnice – one by the bus station and the other at the main train station, which is situated more towards the city centre near Šustal’s Villa.
